This community is served by the Capistrano Unified School District which provides highly ranked Philip J. Reilly Elementary School, Newhart Middle School, and Capistrano Valley High School. Mission Viejo is one of the largest master-planned communities in the nation and as of 2014 had over 96,000 residents. Long before it was incorporated, this land was bought by John Forster who was also known as Don Juan. Today it is known for its clean air, low crime, tree-lined streets, and upscale neighborhoods. Many holiday events are held throughout the year as well as running competitions.
